Area Description

The SE10 postcode, a part of South East London and the Boroughs of Greenwich and Lewisham, includes locations such as Greenwich, Maze Hill and Greenwich Peninsula.

Dominated by its maritime history, the SE10 area has a very unique feel. The main attraction in SE10, more specifically Greenwich Peninsula is The O2, where you can find many restaurants and bars as well as the O2 Arena, which has become London’s entertainment hub, hosting live concerts and sporting events for all ages. Other activities and attractions in SE10 include walks in the many parks in the area and visits to the Cutty Sark, the last surviving British tea clipper. Greenwich offers some of the most aesthetically pleasing views of London, from the top of Greenwich Park you can see spectacular views of the City and there are also brilliant views of the River Thames. There are a copious amount of restaurants in the area for example; you can find the luxuriously styled Gaucho restaurant in The O2, as well as the Cheyenne Spur Steak and Grill and Byron burger bar. In the evenings you can enjoy creatively written, entertaining plays in one of London’s premiere Off West-End theatres – the Greenwich Theatre.

Getting around SE10 is made easier by the number of different transport links that can be used. For instance, tube commuters can find North Greenwich Underground station (Jubilee line) very useful in getting to and from The O2. Cutty Sark DLR, Greenwich DLR and Overground Stations Maze Hill and Westwombe Park can also be used to get around the Capital. In addition, the river buses and Emirates Air Cable Cars can be used to cross the River Thames to East London and other districts. To get around the city and SE10, drivers and taxi users can find major roads in SE10 useful like the A102, Trafalgar Road, Greenwich High Road and Shooters Hill Road (A2).
